Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance do I need to book my florist?

It's recommended to book your wedding florist 6 to 12 months in advance. Florists often book up quickly, especially during peak wedding seasons (late spring and early fall). Booking early gives you time to have consultations, finalize designs, and ensures the florist's availability for your specific date.

What other decor items do you provide besides flowers?

The Flower Bee Blooms offers a variety of vases, containers, and vessels. We also have multiple styles of candles and votives, drapery linens and structural items such as pedestals and ceremony arches,.

Can you work with my cake designer if I want to add flowers to my wedding cake?

Yes, absolutely! This is a very common request. The florist will provide the necessary flowers, but it’s most commonly your cake designer that handles the placement. Florists and bakers often coordinate directly to ensure the right flowers (often non-toxic and pesticide-free) are delivered to the venue at the correct time. It is important to confirm with your cake designer that they are comfortable placing fresh flowers on the cake, otherwise the florist will handle it.

What recommendations do you have to maximize my budget?

To get the most out of your floral budget, consider these strategies:

  • Choose seasonal, locally-sourced flowers. They are more readily available and more affordable than imported, out-of-season blooms.

  • Prioritize high-impact areas. Focus your budget on the elements that will be seen the most, such as your bridal bouquet, the ceremony backdrop, and the main reception centerpieces.

  • Repurpose your arrangements. For example, ceremony aisle arrangements can be moved to the reception to decorate the bar or the gift table. Your bridesmaids' bouquets can be placed in vases on cocktail tables.

  • Communicate your budget openly. Be transparent with your florist from the beginning. A good florist will be able to provide creative, beautiful options that stay within your financial constraints.

Can you provide a detailed, itemized proposal of all the elements and their prices?

Yes, a detailed, itemized proposal is standard practice. It should clearly list every item, from the bridal bouquet to each boutonniere and centerpiece, with a breakdown of its individual cost. This allows you to see exactly where your money is going and make adjustments as needed.

Are there any additional fees for delivery, setup, or late-night pickup?

Yes, it is very common for florists to charge additional fees for logistical services. These costs are all transparently written into the itemized proposal. These fees typically cover:

  • Delivery and Setup: The cost of transporting the flowers to the venue and the labor required to set up all the arrangements, from boutonnieres to large installations.

  • Late-night Pickup/Tear-down: If your venue requires all decor to be removed at the end of the night, the florist may charge a separate fee for a team to come back after the event to collect vases, arches, and other rental items.

What are the day-of logistics?

The day-of logistics will be outlined in your contract and final timeline. Typically, the florist's team will arrive at the venue a few hours before the ceremony to begin setting up. They will coordinate with the venue and your wedding planner to ensure everything is in place at the right time. For personal flowers like bouquets and boutonnieres, they are often delivered to the getting-ready location a couple of hours before photos begin.

Will you handle the pinning of boutonnieres and corsages?

While we will gladly handle the pinning of boutonnieres and corsages, at The Flower Bee Blooms, we use sturdy boutonniere magnets that offer an easier, strong hold that anyone can attach!

Will you stay to move arrangements from the ceremony to the reception?

We offer this service for an additional fee. It is a great way to repurpose larger arrangements, like arch or altar pieces, to save on cost. This will all be discussed during consultations and outlined in the final proposal.

What is your payment schedule?

Our payment schedule includes the Deposit (20% of the total) which solidifies your wedding on our calendar. The Final Payment (which includes any changes to the order made between payments) will be due at the time of order finalizations, which is six (6) weeks before the wedding date.
